This is the reason for such a deep crisis; for so many people wanting to kill; for so many d…

Renwables not enough

http://peakoil.com/alternative-energy/can-renewable-energy-sustain-consumer-societies/

This article is interesting.  It seems clear to me that once again it is a matter of both/and. We need to consume less, drive less - buy less cars and invest less in roads and weapons - and we need to divert more energy to building the solar and wind systems - and we need to make sure we are not…

Government of BC to install electric chargers and Government of Alberta calls for Community Investment Fund proposals

Even Governments deserve a pat on the back!  We've all heard about the province of BC commitment in the budget - they're going to install electric car chargers around the province.  Notwithstanding the continued narrow-minded "growth" agenda that they seem to think will save them, the chargers are a demonstration of vision and green values living somewhere in those hallowed halls. Fabulous!

Check this site out too. The Government of Alberta is supporting a call for proposals…

Seattle to Create Nation's Largest Public Food Forest

An entire acre will feature large chestnuts and walnuts in the overstory, full-sized fruit trees like big apples and mulberries in the understory, and berry shrubs, climbing vines, herbaceous plants, and vegetables closer to the ground.

Earlier this month, planners broke ground in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood for what will be the nation's largest free and open edible landscape, the Beacon Food Forest, a project three years in the making. Established on the notion that…

Now, the bus is on the road working with the Transition Towns movement. Last November, we left Québec province in Canada, to seek those who are experimenting with social and economic practices based on solidarity with the goal of a prosperous and fair local development.

In January…
